Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services 2002 Annual Appeal

December 2002

Dear Friend of STARS,

Please join us to create some magic.

Magic?  At the Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services?

Yes.  Magic!

It’s what The American Heritage Dictionary defines as “a mysterious quality of enchantment.”

It’s also what you quickly sense as you cross our threshold.

But our distinctive brand of magic is not conjured up by tricks or illusions.  It is thoughtfully produced every day by carefully blending passion, intelligence, respect, integrity and enthusiasm into an array of opportunities that enable adults with disabilities achieve their highest levels of personal, social and economic independence.

I cannot find the words to describe this special magic.  However, our good friend Dick Foreman captured it very well when he recently wrote about our agency in Scottsdale Views.  With his and the paper’s permission, we have reprinted Dick’s article so you, too, can get a feel for the “mysterious quality of enchantment” that opens the doors to our clients’ growth, development and independence.

After reading Dick’s column, I’m sure you will want to join us to create some more magic by making a gift to STARS.  Your support will make a huge difference in the lives of people with disabilities – a difference that’s measured by achievement but made possible by our magic.

Best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season,

Jeffrey J. Battle
