Thanks to the vision and generosity of STARS board members Marni Hirshman and Suzette Gibson, and the skilled work of contractor Russ Alexander, our bathrooms at the Osborn campus have undergone beautiful, transformative renovations.
A total of five bathrooms were updated at the Osborn location—home to our administrative offices and STARS’ CommunityWork program, where 40 participants engage in paid work each day. The renovations were fully funded by Marni and Suzette, who not only provided financial support, but also personally contributed their time and design expertise.
From selecting paint colors, flooring, lighting, and fixtures to adding personal touches like handmade artwork, Marni and Suzette brought warmth and dignity to every detail. These upgrades were thoughtfully planned and completed without interrupting our daily programming, and were warmly welcomed by both participants and staff.
When asked why they took on the project, Marni and Suzette shared that they “wanted to do something everyone would appreciate”—but more than that, they wanted to express their care for the participants. This renovation, they explained, was a way to say thank you to the community that makes STARS so special.
We are beyond grateful for their kindness, creativity, and heart. These aren’t just bathroom updates—they’re a reflection of the love and respect we hold for every person who walks through our doors.
