CommunityWork
Connection. Empowerment. Independence.
When an individual with cognitive or developmental challenges is eager to participate in the Arizona workforce, but is not yet able to perform in an independent employment situation, STARS CommunityWork is uniquely positioned to assist them on their journey.
CommunityWork has been privileged to provide services to a number of key for-profit and nonprofit organizations over its history. Presently, STARS has three main employment partners:
Cox Enterprises, Abbott Medical and Hospice of the Valley; each of them offers our participants the chance to engage in as many as 50 different tasks that provide them the opportunity gain valuable, compensated work experience.
Moreover, CommunityWork is able to provide the highest level of work quality through its innovative approach to reconditioning remotes and cables for Cox (requiring an eye for detail) cleaning the jigs that hold pacemaker microchips for Abbott (requiring dexterity and finesse), and the assembly of welcome packets for Hospice of the Valley (requiring patience and accuracy).
Partnership with our customers, our ability to provide valuable job training and experience, and our commitment to the community is at the heart of the STARS CommunityWork experience. We invite you to contact our CommunityWork staff to find out more about both employment and partnership opportunities.
When good people are empowered with possibilities, it’s their opportunity to shine.
Services are offered to those with a developmental or physical disability who are DDD eligible or families interested in a private pay option.
